Our Miniature Schnauzer, black and silver, is called Kata.
She is a very happy little dog and a lot of fun to have around. She is very clever, extremely charming and the best show dog one could ask for.
Kata is from a kennel called Helguhlíðar and was brought up among other miniature schnauzers, a pointer
and irish setters. As she was used to other dogs and a lively
home since she was born, it only took her about 30 seconds to adapt to her
new family when she came to our house at 8 weeks of age.
Kata is a very active dog, inside the house and outside.
She doesn’t mind if it’s cold or warm. Weather
just doesn’t bother her at all.
She loves to hike in the mountains and to swim in some of the amazing Icelandic lakes that we find on our ways, walking around our beautiful country.
Kata has a natural talent for tracking and enjoys it very much. We make Kata track for fun, but we don't plan to train her for competitions. It's just a way to have some fun with her.
Kata
is a very good maid and if someone leaves his/her socks
on the floor, she will pick them up and take them to her
crate. If we don’t take away food from the kitchen
table, Kata will also take care of that!
She is watchful and barks loudly when someone
approaches the house.
She
is named after the Icelandic Minister of Culture and Education
(Þorgerður Katrín). I’ts certainly
a big name for a small dog, but Kata carries it with pride.
