Ragnar Sigurðsson was born in Reykjavík in 1960. He
has always enjoyed the company of animals and his parents used
to keep horses in his youth.
Ragnar’s first dog was called Táta and was a mixed
breed, probably with some terrier bloodlines behind her.
Ragnar went to Norway, as he wanted to study meteorology. However,
in a few years he had enough of the University and decided to
convert lifestyle and travel around the world.
He travelled all over Asia for some years and spent a lot of time
in Buddhist monasteries , studying yoga and oriental religion
and philosophy. He still is fascinated by oriental philosophy
and took part in building a stupa (a Tibetan Buddhist shrine)
in Iceland.
When he returned to Iceland, after the travelling, he studied
to become a physiotherapist and worked in that field for some
years.
In 1997, he converted once again and started working for an insurance
company. He now works as an insurance and business consultant
at a company called Vordur.
With his previous profession as a physiotherapist, Ragnar has
good knowledge about muscles and anatomy. All the animals benefit
from it, and enjoy a relaxing massage, especially after a long
walk.
